After 22 years in business, the Westby family has sold North Boulder’s Dagabi Cucina, according to a social media post. The eatery known for tapas and paella will continue serving with most of the same staff. The Westbys recently opened Ironwood Bar and Grille at Boulder’s Flatiron Golf Course, and in a goodbye message emailed last week, invited patrons to the new eatery.
"We'll be there, continuing to raise Gracen, creating great food, and making new memories. We love you all. This decision was not made lightly, and you all hold a special place in our hearts. With love always, Noah, Tanya, Gracen, Ty, and Dom"
The new owners also posted a message to the restaurant's website. "Our goal is to preserve the heart and soul of this beloved restaurant while bringing fresh passion, dedication, and care to everything we do," it reads. "We are keeping the same staff and menu."
Secretary of State records list Tahmina Rakhi as the new owner of the Dagabi Cucina company and trademark. Rakhi is the owner of a Broomfield franchise of Smokin' Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom, according to that company's website.
Dagabi Cucina opened in 1994. The Westbys bought it in 2003 and eventually transformed it into a beloved Mediterranean tapas spot.

Like a big pizza pie, that's amore
When the world seems to shine
