Flint Blade & Honeydew

9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, The Laughing Goat Coffeehouse, 1709 Pearl St., Boulder, 303-440- 4628.

A clarinet and a Chapman Stick, a guitar/bass hybrid, might seem like an unlikely partnership. But when meshed together by Flint Blade and Alison “Honeydew” Murphy, the music produced is head-bopping good time. The sound is a bit psychedelic, kind of peaceful, yet ominous and a little edgy. Flint and Murphy have been playing music for years, and in 2013 they released their first self-produced, full-length album Love Light, and last year they released their EP Together. Along with their latest album …For a Moment in Time, released Aug. 24, Flint Blade and Honeydew will rock out the Laughing Goat on Sept. 6.
