MarchFourth Marching Band

9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, Fox Theatre, 1128 13th St., 303-786-7030.

Don’t be fooled by the shakos and tuxedo jackets, this isn’t your high school pep rally, it’s MarchFourth Marching Band. The almost-20-person band features a five-piece percussion corps and six-part brass section along with more traditional rock band elements. The band got their start at a Fat Tuesday party in Portland, Ore., on March 4, 2003, and since then they’ve gone on to play tiny nightclubs and festival main stages. M4 draws its sound from worldly influences, from Louisiana to Brazil to eastern European gypsy camps. Along with the music, M4 brings some circus fun to the stage with dancers and stilt acrobats. Tickets are $16-18.
