Facebook Unrolls Timeline-Style Pages for Brands and Businesses


Wednesday morning, Facebook showed off a slick new Timeline-inspired Pages interface
for business. Administrators of existing business Pages can turn on the
preview of the new design today, or wait until all Pages are converted
to the new interface at the end of March.

Brand Pages get the same widescreen “cover photos” across the top of
their profiles that users now have, the same ability to sort and add
events to the tell the story of their company and its products in Timeline,
and benefit from the same kinds of peer-to-peer interactions. For
instance, if as a rank-and-file user, you mention a brand and tag its
name in a Facebook post, your post will be visible on that brand’s page —
at least to your circle of friends, if that brand allows user-created
content. (They don’t have to.)
