Ultimate dinner for beer geeks

The West End Tavern is joining Boulder resident beer geek Peter Archer for their Ultimate Beer Dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 6:30 p.m. The event features 20 beers from 20 different breweries, and a three-course meal by Chef Chris Blackwood. The event starts with a classic street food course, a southern-style course, and a barbeque, all paired with Archer’s favorite beers. The event is $65 per person, and reservations can be made at 303-444- 3535.

Centro chef goes low-carb

Chef Ian Clark, of Centro Latin Kitchen and Refreshment Palace, has been chosen as one of five chefs in the nation to create low-carb recipes for Atkins consumers. As the Latin-cuisine expert, he created 10 recipes featured on the Atkins’ website. Clark helped open Centro in 2007, and brings many of the Centro flavors to his Atkins menu. Connecting with new foods

In an effort to introduce more food lovers to independently owned restaurants in Boulder, Culinary Connectors is launching supper clubs every second Tuesday of the month. The most recent of these clubs was held at Pizzeria Basta, and the next will be held at Bacaro Venetian Tavern on Feb. 8. The Pinyon now open for lunch

The Pinyon, known for its use of fresh and local ingredients, is now open for lunch. Lunch will be served Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in addition to their happy hour, dinner, and late night menus.
