Police investigate attempted sex assault

The Boulder Police Department is investigating an attempted
sexual assault that occurred near the area of 20th Street and Canyon Boulevard
on Tuesday, May 24, at 12:30 a.m.

According to a police news release, a male suspect followed
a woman who was walking alone, pulled her to the ground and attempted to
sexually assault her. The man fled in an unknown direction after the woman
screamed.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 5 feet
and 5 feet, 2 inches tall, about 180 pounds with a heavy build, with short dark
hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He is also
described as speaking both English and Spanish, with a noticeable accent.

The suspect may have an injury to the right side of his face
from where the victim struck him.

Boulder police ask that anyone with information about the
