The Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu Association will celebrate Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Tiger with performances of the Lion Dance and Kung Fu at several locations in Boulder and along the Front Range until Feb. 21.

Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu is a Colorado based, 501(C)(3) non-profit, martial arts organization which raises awareness of the Chinese heritage by performing dances and offering training in authentic Shaolin Kung Fu.

The events that will display the most daring performances will be the Chinese Student and Scholar Association’s Celebration at CU-Boulder and the Far East Center Celebration in Denver, both on Feb. 14.

Lion dancers will also visit many Boulder area Chinese restaurants on the evening of Feb. 12, including China Gourmet and Lee Yuan at 6 p.m., Golden Lotus at 6:45 p.m. and Spice China at 7:30 p.m. Performances will also be held at Chez Thuy at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 and at Lee Yuan at 6 p.m. on Feb. 19.
