CU Theatre & Dance presents The Otherland, a MFA dance concert created and performed by Bailey Anderson and Rosely Conz.
The evening-length show will use contemporary dance to delve into what it means to be a stranger in one’s every day world. Anderson draws her inspiration for this intimate performance from the struggle of making sense out of language, disability and the intersections of academia and dance. Conz uses her Brazilian background and her research about how marginalized populations can change systems of oppression. Both foreignness and disability live in the land of the other, and now is a vital time in history to confront the feeling of belonging when people are dying in search of better lives.
