Buzz Aldrin

6:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, Macky Auditorium, 285 University Ave., Boulder, 303-492-8423.

Not many people know what it’s like to walk on the moon. Luckily, the Distinguished Speakers Board is bringing Buzz Aldrin to Boulder to enlighten the rest of us. Aldrin was the lunar module pilot on the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. He was the second person to walk on the moon, following Neil Armstrong’s one small step for man. Since then, Aldrin’s received the Presidential Medal of Freedom among a bevy of other awards. He’s continued to work with NASA, and he recently penned an opinion piece in the New York Times urging for a manned mission to Mars.
