And this rock gym also offers clinics, private instruction and group classes to improve skills and get you ready for the rock. Climb on.

Lasik

COLORADO EYE CENTER

4 Garden Center, Suite 100, Broomfield, 303-469-1941

1371 E. Hecla Drive, Suite C, Louisville,303-666-7226

Lafayette and Longmont Winner: Eye Care Center of Northern Colorado

During a LASIK treatment, a laser is beamed at your eye and can manipulate the eye’s refractive errors — things that lead to nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatisms — in order to get you seeing crystal clear again. At Colorado Eye Center, they know this can be a bit of a scary procedure at times, which is why they’ve launched a co-management program that ensures consistency of care throughout your entire eye-care journey. Building relationships and consistency are values the 55-year-old establishment holds near, and it’s something our readers love to applaud. You’ll get the same doctor that helped during your consultation to perform your surgery and then follow up with you and your eyes, indefinitely. Now that’s a difference maker.

Staff Pick: Best Place to See Longs Peak in the Alpenglow

MACINTOSH LAKE

MacIntosh Lake Trail, 8348 Ute Hwy, Longmont

Alright, get up off your patootie and make it to MacIntosh Lake for the best darn view of the Front Range’s favorite 14er there ever was. The sun can get up pretty early, so you will have to too if you want to catch Longs Peak in all its alpenglow glory. We recommend arriving at the trailhead around 45 minutes before technical sunrise. That way you’ll have a few minutes to get yourself situated on the trail — which circumnavigates the lake and is half-paved, half-gravel and relatively flat all the way around — before the best of glowing pre-dawn rosy light hits the peak’s eastern face.
