Alfalfa’s Market in Boulder will host a panel discussion on genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, featuring four local experts on farming and crops.

Moderating the panel will be the editor of Boulder Weekly, Joel Dyer, who has done extensive work on GMOs and the influence of Monsanto on the farming industry.

The panel, which takes place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in Alfalfa’s Community Room, is scheduled in honor of national Non-GMO month. It will feature two members of GMO-Free Boulder, Campaign Manager Mary Von Breck and Operations Executive Michael O’Keeffe, as well as Hazon Boulder Director Becky O’Brien and Fresh Ideas Group founder Sylvia Tawse.

The panel will discuss the upcoming vote on Proposition 37 in California, the push to label products that contain GMOs. It will also consider issues in GMOs and farming beyond Prop 37.
