Portable-potty peeper suspect faces more charges

Boulder
police are filing additional charges against the portable-potty peeper suspect,
Luke Irvin Chrisco, 30, after he allegedly admitted spying on women through
peepholes in several other locations around Boulder, including at the University of Colorado.

Police
said he faces four additional charges of burglary, and bond for those charges
has been set at $250,000. Burglary is a class 4 felony and, if convicted,
Chrisco could face two to six years in prison for each count.

He
was initially charged with unlawful sexual contact and criminal invasion of
privacy after he admitted to spying on women who used a portable toilet at the
Hanuman Yoga Festival on June 17, police said.

Chrisco reportedly told detectives that he also watched women using restroom
facilities at the Department of Motor Vehicles at 2850 Iris Ave., The
Naropa Institute, Target and the Boulder Café on Pearl Street. Investigators
found peepholes at all of those businesses, and the holes have been sealed, police
said. CU police also reported finding peepholes in at least three locations on campus where Chrisco allegedly told police he spied on women: one restroom in the fourth-floor E wing of the Muenzinger Psychology and Biopsychology building, and two in
the first-floor M wing and first-floor S wing of the Ekeley Sciences Building. Those peepholes have been repaired, and a campuswide check of restrooms is expected to be complete by the end of the week.

Police are still investigating allegations that Chrisco spied on women from
adjoining stalls at other Boulder businesses, including Absinthe, Macy’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Mamacita’s, and the International
Youth Hostel. Initial reports indicated that he may have peeped at the Rio Grande restaurant, but Rio officials released a statement this week saying that police have determined that it is “highly unlikely” that he spied on women at that establishment.

Chrisco
was transferred from the Eagle County Jail to the Boulder County Jail on June
27.
