Elections golden boy Nate Silver drives 20 percent of NYT traffic

It’s no secret that Nate Silver and the FiveThirtyEight blog are popular.

And the New York Times isn’t hiding just how popular, either. While the paper doesn’t disclose exact page views for its web traffic, a spokesperson has confirmed that, in the day before the election, FiveThirtyEight was a part of 20 percent of the visits to the Times‘ site. And 71 percent of visits to the politics pages of the Times in the week before the election included FiveThirtyEight.

It’s a huge coup for the Grey Lady, which signed Silver and his electoral predictions modeling to a three-year contract in 2010.

The next question is: Where will Silver be in 2016?
