The Blind Boys of Alabama

8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, Boulder Theater, 2032 14th St., Boulder, 303-786-7030.

It doesn’t seem like the Blind Boys of Alabama plan on slowing down anytime soon. The iconic gospel group formed in the 1930s at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind (now simply the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind) and has been on the road ever since, performing traditional gospel favorites to modern spiritual tunes.

Their newest release and ninth studio album of this century, I’ll Find a Way, was produced by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. The Blind Boys have won five Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Versatile and soulful, the five members will be crooning at the Boulder Theater on Sept. 18.
