Man accused of harassment after alleged peeping

A Boulder man was arrested Monday, Sept. 20, for allegedly harassing a woman after sneaking up to her home and peeking in a sliding glass door while she was having sex with another man. The man had lived with the victim in the past, but was never romantically involved with her, according to the victim. The man allegedly told the woman and her partner that he was taking pictures of them having sex. He was arrested on two charges of harassment and two charges of third-degree trespassing.

Police identify two men in bias-motivated assault

Boulder police have identified the two remaining men suspected of being involved in the bias-motivated assault that occurred at 2:28 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at Broadway and Pleasant Street. Detectives have spoken to both men and are conducting line-ups and additional investigation before deciding whether charges will be filed against them.

Another suspect, Joseph Owen Coy, 22, of Lafayette, was taken into custody on charges of bias-motivated crime, which is a felony, and obstruction.

According to a police report, a 19-year-old CU student from Nigeria was walking near Broadway and Pleasant Street on Sept. 18 with a 23-year-old friend, who is also from Nigeria, when they heard voices behind them. The suspects allegedly used the n-word, called the victims monkeys and told them to go back to their country of origin, the report said. Coy is suspected of punching the student after a verbal altercation ensued, police said.

Boulder police officers have arrested a transient wanted in connection with a vehicle trespass that occurred in the 2400 block of Bluff Street between the evening hours of Sept. 7 and the early morning hours of Sept. 8. The victim in the case was an evacuee from the Fourmile Canyon wildfire who was staying with a friend and had most of her belongings stored in her car.

Police arrested Roger L. Kincaid, 45, on Sunday, Sept. 19, at a make shift campsite on the southwest corner of Folsom and South streets.

Officers had been looking for Kincaid after recovering forensic evidence that allegedly linked him to the vehicle break-in, according to a police report.

None of the victim’s stolen belongings have been recovered yet.

Police investigate similarities in prowler reports

Boulder police officers are investigating similarities in prowler reports coming in from neighborhoods in the northwestern part of the city.

Since Aug. 29, police have responded to a number of prowler-type calls in the Dakota Ridge and Northbriar Estates neighborhoods. The incidents have occurred in the late evening hours and early morning hours between 10:45 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The suspect in the Dakota Ridge and Northbriar Estates cases has been described as a white male, 19 to 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, thin, with short, light-colored hair. He was seen wearing khaki shorts and a short-sleeve T-shirt.

The department had also issued a press release on Sept. 10 detailing five similar incidents that have occurred since May in neighborhoods east of Broadway, west of Folsom Street, south of Norwood Avenue and north of Spruce Street. The incidents occurred between noon and 4:30 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In three cases, the homes were occupied when an intruder entered them.

The suspect in the previous cases has been described as a white male in his 20s, 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing khaki shorts and a short-sleeved shirt.
