Man tries to mail ecstasy in porn

Boulder police officers found more than just naked women between the pages of a pornography magazine on April 14.

The officers arrested a 23-year-old Boulder man on charges of unlawful possession and attempt to distribute ecstasy. The suspect is accused of attempting to mail eight packets of the powdered drug concealed between the pages of a porn magazine.

Boulder Police are investigating the theft of more than 20 laptop computers from the Boulder Preparatory School, in the 5000 block of Chaparral Ct., on April 12. The case remains under investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time.

Ironman Inc. received a package that had a questionable stench on April 12 and called the Boulder Police about the suspicious package giving off an odor. Boulder police and firefighters responded to the hazardous materials call at 3550 Frontier Ave., but the team determined that the package’s substance was not explosive, flammable or immediately dangerous.

At 2:45 p.m. on April 12, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Fire and the Boulder Emergency Squad, were dispatched to the Marpa Landscape Design Nursery, located at 1275 Cherryvale Rd., regarding a report of a structure fire.

The structure, a round yurt, was fully engulfed in flames when they arrival. The total damage is estimated at about $50,000 dollars. The cause of the fire does not appear suspicious, but the investigation of the incident is continuing.
