Police Blotter | Attempted murder

Police responded to a report of domestic violence at a Gunbarrel home on June 19 at about 3:10 p.m. Police said that Aaron Whalen, 25, was engaged in an argument with his girlfriend when it turned violent. According to the report, the victim suffered injuries resulting from being strangled to the point where she became unconscious.

Cops Crash Campout

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on April 28, deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call that seniors from Boulder High School were planning to hold a campout in the mountains west of Boulder. Deputies responded to the area of Gordon Gulch, located on Highway 72 between Nederland and Ward, and found roughly 200 students camping in the area. The deputies remained on scene overnight, because of the number of students and inclement weather conditions to maintain order and provide medical assistance.

Plane crashes at Boulder airport

Members of the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District and Boulder Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a plane crash northwest of the intersection of Independence and North 57th St. today at 11:48 a.m. Upon arrival they found a Beachcraft Bonanza aircraft abandoned in the field.

Cosmic brownie call

On Thursday, April 15, the Boulder County communications center received a call at 9 p.m. from two adults at an address on Rustic Knolls Dr. who said that they had been poisoned. After the parties were transported to Boulder Community Hospital, they admitted to consuming brownies that were laced with marijuana.
