Chocolate Blueberry Shortcakes

Grenache will work nicely with the blueberries, as Grenache tends to be a bit spicy with a nice berry flavor. I am using Garnacha de Fuego that I picked up at PettyJohns. They are always so helpful and full of knowledge.

Fresh Raspberry Muffins

The fresh raspberries give that bit of tartness that blends so well with the brown sugar. Just enough to almost make you pucker, but not enough to make you squint. That is how I judge all my sour-worthy treats, on the pucker and the squint. Sounds like a bad childrenís book, I know, but whatever works.

Almond Apple Pan Dowdy

Personally, I like the look of it, and more importantly, I like the taste. An apple-based filling baked with a sweet, crispy crust. The name comes from what happens after the baking process. The lovely hostess takes a fork and dowdies it up, leaving the pieces of pie crust broken and soaking up all the delightful juices of the apples.
