Pumpkin Scones with Nutmeg Glaze

By Danette Randall
Serve these up for the holidays, and your friends will think they have died and gone to bed and breakfast heaven. If you want them to ever leave, you might need to refrain from baking this particular treat. But if you dont care about your houseguests setting up camp, then bake away.

Honey Ginger Pumpkin Pie

By Danette Randall
I am using milk instead of cream, and doing a lot of the sweetening with honey. Mixing honey with the spices and extra ginger makes for a wonderful take on a traditional dessert. I am calling for the canned version in this recipe, but you can use fresh pumpkin just as easily.

Yummy Mummy Cookies

By Danette Randall
I always look forward to all the creative costumes Boulder has to offer. Of course, there is never a shortage of hookers, playboy bunnies and Midwest farmers daughter costumes. I always went the other way, you know, furry costume from head to toe, leaving something for the imagination.

Apple Cinnamon Cake with Cinnamon Glaze

By Danette Randall
It always makes me feel better that when fruit is the star attraction, somehow that second piece is OK. I mean, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? I wonder what a piece of apple cake a day keeps away. Probably me appearing anytime soon on Americas Next Top Model.

Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

By Danette Randall
Now, many a pecan pie recipe includes bourbon, and we all know I love baking with the libations. This recipe, however, I prefer without. Thats not to say I dont sip the bourbon while making it, just to make it feel a bit more authentic. In fact, the more I sip, the better my fall dance looks to me at least, maybe not to those around me.

Pear Crisp with Ginger Whipped Cream

By Danette Randall
Pears are not only delicious but good for you, too, full of vitamin C and an excellent source of dietary fiber. They are good to eat right out of your hand, or used in sweet and savory dishes. I love to slice up a pear and drop in a little Ketel One Vodka and cinnamon.

Toasted Walnut Carrot Bread

By Danette Randall
I make a cream cheese spread so you can use it if you want, or not. It is just as good without the cream cheese frosting. However, I find that when I make anything with carrots, people always assume frosting will be present. I dont like to let the peeps down, so spread it is!.

Broncos Brownies

By Danette Randall
Im actually not sure about the manly meter on a brownie, but rest assured these babies will be chock full of goodness and something you can really sink your teeth into. I guess we could call them Buffs Brownies as well, with fingers crossed that the Buffs are manly men this season.

Cinnamon Orange Rice Pudding

By Danette Randall
I like to use short grain rice, as it produces a bit more of a creamy texture. With just some simple, pure ingredients you can make a treat that will become a favorite for all seasons. The hint of orange is such a welcome flavor, mixed with the dairy and the cinnamon, its an instant pick-me-up.
