DRINKS AT UPSLOPE

On Nov. 14 from 2-8 p.m., Boulder-based brewery Upslope Brewing will host a party in celebration of seven years in the Colorado beer business and offer beer from more than 40 taps, including the “7th Anniversary Ale.”

The celebration, called 7 Years of Beer, is scheduled to occupy Upslope’s Flatiron Park brewery along with four live bands and three food carts.

The event is naturally 21-plus, although kids under the age of 12 can be accompanied by a parent. If you do decide to attend, Upslope is encouraging you to get there sooner rather than later before their taps are emptied by the masses.

CHEESEMAKING CLASS

It ain’t easy being cheesy. That’s why The Art of Cheese will be hosting a “Cheesemaking Bootcamp” on Nov. 14 from 1-5 p.m. This week’s cheesemaking workshop will focus on the “gold-level” cheeses — alpines, blues and cheddars — as well as “Trappist-style” cheeses.

According to The Art of Cheese’s website, this particular class is more suited for people that have made a few cheeses but are feeling ready to move on to some more “advanced” cheesing.

For $100, participants will have four hours of intensive training in all things cheese, as well as samples of a variety of cheeses.

SPOOKY SPIRITS

If you thought spooky Halloween festivities were over, you’re dead wrong. Get back in there with the Butterfly Pavilion’s final tasting event of the season with “Spiders and Spirits,” on Nov. 13 from 6:30-9 p.m.

No doubt inspired by this week’s Friday being the 13th of November, the tasting will feature “spooky” cuisine and cocktails from local distilleries including Leopold Bros, Geek Spirits, Old Town Distilling and more.

Tickets run at $45, and can be bought online.

GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN FOR CLASSIC LOCAL BAR

After enduring a particularly damaging fire earlier this year, Rocky Flats Lounge — the bar famous as a hub for Green Bay Packers fans — is trying to make a comeback with the help of local donations.

Rocky Flats Lounge, a community staple known for its Wisconsin-style fish fries, stunning views and casual atmosphere, recently launched a GoFundMe campaign to accrue funds for a potential rebuild sometime in the near future. Funds would also go to supporting the owners as they continue to lose revenue from the loss of their business.

As of six days into the campaign, Rocky Flats Lounge has received more than $1,000, while the owners are continuing to urge friends of the bar to spread the word. To check out their GoFundMe page, visit www.gofundme.com/hu86u4j8.

BAROLO WINE DINNER

Arugula Ristorante is crafting a dinner experience specifically tailored for lovers of Italian wine with the Barolo Wine Dinner on Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Arugula chefs will prepare a five-course meal to pair with a fresh shipment of wines from northern Italy.

Running at $99 per person, the meal will feature Barolo wines from the Italian province of Piedmont, which are described by Arugula as “some of Italy’s finest.”

In addition to the meal and wine pairing, the event will feature Jeff Revious of Synergy Fine Wines, a wine expert who will guide participants through the experience.

Reservations can be booked at arugularistorante.com.
