Los Angeles native and saxophonist Kamasi Washington brings his renowned jazz ensemble to the Boulder Theater as part of the tour for his criticallyacclaimed album The Epic. Washington has made waves in the jazz community with The Epic, which debuted at No. 1 on iTunes Jazz charts in the U.S. His ensemble, which includes the prolific bassist Thundercat, also sports two drummers, two bassists, two DJs, horns, a full orchestra and a full choir. Washington, who has worked with artists including Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Lauryn Hill and Flying Lotus, is perhaps best known for his instrumentation in Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly.
