With Valentine’s Day on Saturday, here are several options for date spots throughout Boulder County this weekend. Each are either first come, first served or had reservations available at the time of publication.

DICKENS OPERA HOUSE: DINNER & FACE

Dickens Opera House and Tavern in Longmont is hosting a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner in their tavern starting at 6 p.m. followed by a live musical performance in the opera house starting at 8 p.m.

Dickens has assembled a special Valentine’s Day menu for two ($100 total). The three-course special menu offers an eclectic selection of dishes to choose from, including lobster ravioli, duck breast salad, tournedos or seared Hawaiian tuna. The meal will conclude with the “ultimate chocolate cake” and bourbon cherries.

Boulder band Face will perform their unique music, using no instruments besides a vocal drummer and five singers, creating a truly original sound.

Show tickets can be purchased at the venue for $20, or on their website for $21. Dinner reservations are available now by calling 303-834-9384.

HOTEL BOULDERADO: ROMANCE ON THE MEZZ

Enjoy a romantic three-course dinner with dancing and live music on Hotel Boulderado’s mezzanine. Reservations are available for Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14 between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The three-course menu presents an array of classic American-style food. The first course offers a number of soups and salads to choose from. Second course entrees range from seared salmon to braised short ribs and also include a vegetarian option.

Musical guests the Mark Diamond Quartet featuring Peter Yelle will be performing on Friday night, and the Andy Weyl Quartet featuring Ed Battle will play on Saturday night. The meal runs $75 per person.

BRU HANDBUILT ALES & EATS

If you are a beer connoisseur on the lookout for a casual Valentine’s Day dinner destination, Boulder’s Bru Handbuilt Ales & Eats has you covered.

On Feb. 14, Bru, located at 5290 Arapahoe, will offer a five-course menu in which each course is paired with a specific beer, tailored to complement one another. Consider the entrée: You have the choice between a flatiron steak paired with an American brown ale, or a wood roasted tuna paired with an IPA.

Prices are listed at $40 per person, and reservations can be booked by calling 720- 638-5193.

MORNING GLORY CAFE

The Lafayette eatery will be serving a five course meal, which includes a traditional and full vegetarian menu.

The vegetarian menu includes grilled polenta, stuffed poblano pepper, eggplant napoleon and poached pears. The traditional menu includes oysters, lamb lollipops and a rich risotto plate.

Each course will be paired with wine (for an additional $30), and the five-course meal is $28. Call 303-604-6351 for reservations.

LOUISVILLE DATE SPOTS

A number of Louisville restaurants will be serving special Friday and Saturday night Valentine’s Day meals.

First, consider Zucca Italian Ristorante on Saturday. For $49, you’ll be able to get into oysters, gnocchi, steak, sole saltimbocca and your choice of one of two desserts. An additional $28 will get you paired wines.

You can also check out the $29 Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday at The Huckleberry. Appetizer, entrée and dessert will be served in a prix fixe meal, or you can choose from the acclaimed restaurant’s regular menu.

Or, make reservations at The Melting Pot and dip some fruits into some liquid chocolate. What’s more romantic than that? A four-course meal runs $55 per person on Friday and Sunday, and $75 on Saturday. Call 303-666-7777 for reservations.
