NBC’s popular comedy The Office is drawing to a close as its ninth season ends, and speculation is ramping up that beloved former character Michael Scott will return.
Steve Carell, who played the former regional manager who was at the center of the show for seven seasons, has not confirmed that he will return. Other cast members have been cagey about the idea; actress and writer Mindy Kaling told David Letterman she had signed a nondisclosure agreement and couldn’t say if Scott returns.
Since leaving The Office, Carell has moved to film, appearing in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and the sequel to Despicable Me.
