The Pulitzer Prize board has announced its winners and finalists for all categories, releasing the highly sought-after 2013 prizes in journalism and the arts.

Among the winners are Adam Johnson for his novel, The Orphan Master’s Son, a journey into the totalitarian society of North Korea. The award for breaking news coverage went to The Denver Post for its coverage of the theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., while David Barboza of the New York Times won for international reporting for his reporting on corruption in the Chinese government.
