Whole Foods Market has announced it will place labels on all foods containing genetically modified organisms by 2018.

The nationwide chain, known for a specialization in natural, organic and eco- and socially-conscious foods, says it will require its suppliers to place labels on any products that contain GMOs.

The decision by Whole Foods comes as several states and the federal government consider GMO-labeling legislation. No states currently require labels on GMOs.
