Lance Armstrong hit with suit for sponsorship money

Disgraced cycling champion Lance Armstrong has been sued by the United States government, alleging that he defrauded the government by taking sponsorship money from the U.S. Postal Service while using performance-enhancing drugs.

Armstrong admitted to the drug use last month in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, after he was stripped of all seven of his Tour de France titles. He is also banned for life.

Armstrong's team was sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service while he was racing in the Tour de France. He will contest the lawsuit, saying the Postal Service was not damaged by his drug use.
