Five to 10 National Parks to test expanded WiFi

The National Park Service will test expanded WiFi in five to 10 parks this year, with an eye on cutting park costs and providing up-to-date information to visitors.

Concessionaires have pushed for more WiFi in parks. The pilot program's participating parks haven't been named yet.

While parks could save some money on printing flyers and maps for visitors, visitors could find themselves paying more. Part of the pilot program is to charge visitors for WiFi usage beyond the park's website.
