Pulling together Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, most of Nirvana and the singer from Slipknot seems unlikely enough. Getting them together on a Utah stage is even less likely.

But the Sound City Players, a collective led by the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, rocked stage at Sundance for over three hours this weekend.

The performance, an inaugural one for the supergroup-upon-supergroup, came about as a result of Grohl's interest in the Sound City recording studio in California. It included Nicks, Springfield, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick and Lee Ving of Fear.
