Is it finally ski season in Colorado?

Dozens of ski resorts across the state received at least some snow over the weekend, finally forming a base for the 2012-2013 ski season. The big winner, not surprisingly, was Wolf Creek, which got 4 feet of powder. Among the lowest, unfortunately, was nearby Eldora. See a full snow report here.

Arapahoe Basin, meanwhile, announced the opening of its children's learning area, Pika Place, and its beginner-level terrain park, Ace's Kids' Park. A-Basin held a ribbon-cutting for Pika Place Dec. 15.
