Pick your own
by Dagny Leonard

For those of you looking for a little outdoor adventure minus the tents, sleeping outside or any sort of sporting equipment, going to a “pick your own” farm can provide a fun and relaxing alternative. Pickyourown.org lets you search for “pick your own” farms by state or even by county. Some listings provide more information than others about the individual farms and their products, but overall it’s a great starting point. Find just the right farm and make a day trip out of it with the whole family. Another perk, you can search by state to see what time of the year is best for picking your fruit or vegetable of choice, which really comes in handy for the non-farmer just looking for some outdoor fun.
